1st Annual End-of-Season Visit to La Baraja Farm

In Community, Events on October 26, 2010 at 12:24 AM

Our vegetable farmer, Pedro Rodriguez, invites our members along with family and friends to close the season by “picking our own” vegetables. Season’s leftover carrots, herbs, squashes and more will be used as compost if we don’t pick-to-eat! This will be especially fun for our city kids who will experience first hand the challenges(and gratification) of picking carrots.

Please join us on Saturday, November 6th. We’ll leave Tribeca at 10AM, arrive at the farm by 11:30AM, pick some veggies and return to NYC at our leisure. We won’t be renting a van this time and strongly encourage everyone to car pool. Please bring a light lunch, snacks and water.

Follow the link below for directions to the farm and don’t forget to BRING YOUR OWNBAGS!!!
La Baraja Farm is located 65 miles north of Washington Market Park. We recommend using Palisades Parkway for a scenic route that takes exactly 1hr 30min.

See you in the black dirt…
